“You should be in class Minomaru.” I heard the smooth voice of Zero Kiryu behind me.
I blew a raspberry without turning around, I just continued to stare into the pool of water in front of me.
I heard him sigh before approaching me.
“Takara.” He warned standing next to me.
“What?” I asked not looking at him.
“What’s wrong?” He demanded gently. Only ever when we were alone was he like this.
“Don’t lie to me.” He said and turned to face me, putting his hands on my shoulders forcing me to face him too.
I took a deep breath before looking up at him. His violet eyes bore into my soul.
I went face first into his chest, wrapping my arms around his torso as best I could being so much smaller than him. He placed a hand on my head and wrapped his other arm around my shoulders.
“Do you think my blood is dirty?” I asked.
I closed my eyes awaiting the answer I already knew. My father was a pure blood vampire, he had an obsession with genetic manipulation and playing God. He took an egg of an aristocratic vampire, and inseminated it with his own sperm before planting that egg into a pure human, my mother. When my mother went into labour he drank her blood causing her to fall to a level E. From that frankenstein-esk experiment I was born.
“Where did this come from?” He asked holding me tighter, “Don’t tell me it was the other night class morons.”
“No.” I said and nestled myself closer to my love, “I was just thinking.”
“Never think of those sorts of things.” He told me, pulling away so he could look me in the eye.
“Your father is a cruel and deranged individual. What he did was not your fault. And if anyone dares to say anything about it I will personally destroy them. Whether you have dirty blood or not has nothing to do with you as a person. Because to me, you’re amazing.” He then gave me a rare smile before leaning down and capturing my mouth in a loving kiss.
“You’re a peculiar one, Zero Kiryu.” I told him as we pulled away, “But I like it.”
“And I like you.” He said before kissing me again.
